Travelling Microscopes Model SMT - 1S (CAT NO. G8894)
This is an ideal instrument to measure linear distances and diameter of Newton rings with fine accuracies.
Main Features
Heavy C.I. casted base with leveling screws. Base has fine machined and lapped guide ways for smooth movement of the horizontal carriage.
A white acrylic plate is provided on the base to serve as stage of the microscope.
Carriage has coarse adjustment on the base with locking screw and fine motion by a knurled knob fitted on one side of the base.
Stainless steel horizontal scale has 0-18cm graduations (in 0.5mm divisions) with vernier reading to 0.01mm.
Heavy brass vertical pillar with stainless steel scale has 15cm graduations (in 0.5mm divisions) with vernier reading to 0.01mm.
The vertical pillar is fitted on the horizontal carriage exactly perpendicular to the base.
Vertical slide of the pillar is freely movable and can be coarse adjusted. A locking screw is provided to lock the slide at any position. Fine motion is provided by a knurled knob fitted at top of the pillar.
Telescope has rack and pinion focusing and can be clamped horizontally or vertically by matching an index line on the vertical slide.
The telescope can also be clamped left or right side of the vertical slide as per requirement.
Achromatic objective having focal length 50mm or 75mm and ramsden eye-piece 10x with cross line graticule is fitted in the telescope.
Microscope parts are stoving painted or chrome plate for long life.
The instrument is packed in polished plywood cabinet with lock and key, dust cover & cleaning cloth.
